Curtain fullness is determined by the total width of the track or rod by the amount of fabric used in the curtain heading. Different headings require different fullness ratios, depending on which style of curtains are chosen, which will also affect the final price.
Fullness can sometimes be adjusted to fit a projects budget, final use or design of the curtains.
As an example: Your curtain rod is 50” wide and you would like double pleat curtains, which are 2.0 fullness, you would therefore require 50” x 2.0 = 100” finished width of fabric to cover the the rod/pole.
RECOMMENDED AMOUNT OF FABRIC FULLNESS TO USE FOR EACH STYLE OF CURTAINS:

Ripplefold |  | 1.6 – 2.2 | A modern, simple style that has continuous and consistently placed pleats spanning the width of the curtain. A special snap tape is sewn into the heading and requires a rod with spacing carriers. |
Back Tab |  | 1.5 | A tailored style where the rod slips through the back tabs of the header to create a crisp clean look. |
Tab Top |  | 1.25 – 1.5 | This style features a number of fabric tabs that help showcase a decorative curtain rod. |
Rod Pocket |  | 1.25 – 1.5 | A soft, classic style where the rod is slipped through the panels allowing the fabric to gather together. This simple decorative style is not necessarily suited for curtains that are often opened and closed. |
